Carpet History

Carpets have been around for centuries and have a long and interesting history. Carpets originated in Central Asia, where the nomadic tribes used them to keep warm in the cold climate. The first carpets were made of wool and were often hand-knotted. Over time, carpets spread to Europe and other parts of the world. In the 1500s, carpet weaving became popular in Europe and looms were developed that could create more intricate patterns. In the 1800s, machine-made carpets became popular, and by the 1900s, synthetic fibers such as nylon and polyester were being used in the manufacture of carpets. Today, carpets are still widely used in homes and businesses and come in a variety of colors, styles, and materials.
